Charity Administration Handbook, 4th edition
Written by Don Bawtree and Kate Kirkland

Charity Administration Handbook 4th edition provides all the information needed for effective charity management, as well as practical assistance in dealing with problems that may arise when setting up or running a charity.

Written in a non-technical and accessible way, it is intended to be a first point of reference for charity administrators and their professional advisers, especially in relation to finance and charity administration issues.

The fourth edition of this handbook has been extensively revised to cover the Charities Act 2006, the 2005 Accounting and Reporting by Charities SORP, the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, and recent changes to the taxtation of charities. Key new topics include: new heads of charity, public benefit and substantial donor legislation.

The book covers a range of topics in alphabetical order, including:

Accounts, regulations for commercial practicipators, PAYE administration, implications of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, Changes regarding employment, pensions and governance and Coverage of the Introduction of the Companies Act 2006.

Don Bawtree is a partner in the Charities Unit of BDO Stoy Hayward LLP and acts for a range of national and international charities. He has written widely on the subject of charities.
Kate Kirkland is Head of Secretariat at the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund. She was previously a Director in the Charities Unit at BDO Stoy Hayward LLP and Head of NCVO's Trustee Unit.
