Books with a CD-ROM or eBook element as part of the package are subject to 10% VAT. This is because VAT is only applied to the digital element of the package (the paper-based element being zero rated). By applying 10% to the total price we are able to collect a sum equivalent to the standard VAT rate as applied to the CD-ROM or eBook element of a particular title.
