Andrew was appointed as a Circuit Judge in 2024, sitting at the Crown Court at St Albans. Prior to taking up his full-time appointment, he was a barrister in practice at 5 Paper Buildings for fifteen years. He specialised in regulatory prosecutions, including for fire safety, health and safety and consumer law offences, as well as having a specialist appellate practice before the Court of Appeal (Criminal Division). He was instructed in a number of cases involving allegations of breaches of fire safety duties and of prohibition orders. He prosecuted what was understood to be the first case under the Fire Safety Order that was commenced by a local authority that was not a fire authority.
