Blake O'Donnell

Blake O'Donnell is a London-based fintech solicitor specialising in payments and digital assets regulation. He is the founder and principal of Solvere Solicitors, advising payment, e-money and cryptoasset firms across the full range of UK regulatory matters. He was previously a partner at two London law firms and general counsel to an international real estate investment group. He is the author of Legal Aspects of Cryptocurrency in the UK (Bloomsbury Professional, 2024) and the forthcoming The Law of Digital Payments (Bloomsbury Professional, 2027), a practitioner guide to UK payments law covering open banking, APP fraud, stablecoins and agentic payments. He trained at A&L Goodbody and was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales and in Ireland in 2010. He holds a BCL (First Class Honours) from University College Dublin, an LLM from the University of Minnesota and an MPhil from the University of Cambridge.
